Under the auspices of the Wa Diocese headed by the Late Cardinal Pourkuu Dery at that time, Sir Dr. Gyader studied medicine at the University of Bologna, Italy in 1972, and then pursued a Fellowship Degree in General Surgery at the University of Padova, Italy in 1977. On completion he was made the Assistant Surgeon and Assistant Chief Surgeon in different hospitals in Italy from 1972-1977.
Jirapa Hospital in the Upper West Region was honoured to have him as the Medical Superintendent and Surgeon-in-Charge from 1978 - 1982. Sir Dr. Gyader extended his services to the Gaoua Hospital in Burkina Faso as the Surgeon-in Charge from 1982-1985. Upon his return to Ghana, he served at the Wa Regional Hospital as Medical Director and Surgeon-in-Charge from 1985- 2004. Although he retired in September 2004, he continued to work in the following positions: Deputy Director in Charge of Clinical Care, GHS-UWR, Regional Chairman of the Hospital Reform Group, Wa Regional Hospital and Faculty Committee Member, Ghana College of Surgeons. In 2008, with great passion and self-sacrifice, he accepted to become the Dean of SMHS- UDS.
Among Sir Dr. Gyader's honors are the National Grand Medal in 2005, Lifetime award from the Ghana Medical and Dental Council in 2006, Meritorious Regional awards (UWR) from 2004 to 2007, and winner of the Director General (GHS) Special Award in 2004. The Knight of St. Sylvester conferred on him by Pope John Paul II in 2004 gave him the dignified title SIR. The pinnacle of all these was when he was profiled by the World Medical Association and listed among the sixty-five most caring physicians in the world in 2005. He also has several Italian publications to his credit.
